- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ground beef. Cook the beef until it is browned.
- Drain any extra fat from the skillet. Pour in the marinara sauce and let the mixture simmer.
- Break the uncooked lasagna noodles into thirds. Layer these pieces into the skillet, stirring them gently into the sauce mixture.
- Dollop the ricotta cheese over the top of the noodles. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the ricotta. Add fresh spinach or basil if you are using it.
- Cover the skillet with a lid. Cook on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Let the lasagna rest briefly before you serve it.
- For a vegetarian option, replace ground beef with mushrooms or lentils. Add extra vegetables like zucchini or bell peppers for more nutrition.
