Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Sauce
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix About 1 ounce
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
  4. Stir in the dry ranch seasoning mix until combined.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce starts to thicken slightly.
  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts into the sauce.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss to coat the chicken evenly with the creamy ranch sauce. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the chicken is heated through.
  8. Serve the creamy ranch chicken immediately over rice, pasta, or with a side of vegetables.

Notes

You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream if you prefer a lighter sauce, but the sauce will be thinner. For extra flavor, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder when you add the ranch seasoning.
