Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix with an electric mixer on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely in the pan before frosting.
- To make the frosting, beat the softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and spreadable.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
Notes
You can add sprinkles on top of the frosting for decoration if you wish.
