- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Brush half of the oil mixture over the chicken.
- Place the trimmed asparagus on the other side of the baking sheet. Drizzle the remaining oil mixture over the asparagus and toss to coat.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C) and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes
If your chicken breasts are very thick, you may want to pound them slightly to an even thickness before seasoning. This helps them cook at the same rate as the asparagus.
