Ingredients

Chicken and Sauce
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water to make a slurry
For Serving (Optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tbsp green onions sliced, for garnish

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 1 inch each.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly until the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Whisk the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) into the sauce. Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss the chicken until it is fully coated with the honey garlic sauce.
  7. Serve the chicken bites immediately. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.

Notes
