- Pat the shrimp dry using paper towels. Season the shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the melted butter. Cook for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately.
