- Pat the shrimp dry using paper towels. This helps them sear better.
- In a medium bowl, toss the dried shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Wait until the oil is shimmering before adding the shrimp.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, using tongs to turn them once they turn pink and opaque. Total cooking time should be about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Remove the shrimp from the heat immediately when done. Serve right away.
Notes
You can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the cooked shrimp just before serving for brightness.
