Ingredients

Fruits
  • 2 medium bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
Liquids
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed or high-quality store-bought orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, dairy, etc.)
Dairy
  • 1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
Flavorings & Sweeteners
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
Others
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Ensure your blender is clean, assembled, and ready to use for smooth blending of ingredients.
  2. Place frozen bananas, orange juice, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, orange zest, optional honey or maple syrup, milk, and ice cubes into the blender.
  3. If desired, chill your serving glasses in the freezer to keep the smoothie cold longer upon serving.
  4. Blend all ingredients on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to incorporate all bits.
  5. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if preferred; add a splash of milk if too thick and blend again briefly.
  6. Pour the smoothie into the chilled glasses, garnish if desired (for example with an orange slice or zest), and enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

Using frozen bananas gives the smoothie a creamy texture without needing additional ice or frozen yogurt.
You can substitute Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative to make the smoothie vegan-friendly.
Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less honey or maple syrup.
For extra citrus flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or substitute orange juice with mandarin juice.
The smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours; stir before serving if separated.
