Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk any type
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Fruit
  • 4 medium apples peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Large bowl

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt for the dry ingredients.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract for the wet ingredients.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bake cool slightly before cutting and serving.

Notes

You can substitute other firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for Granny Smith. Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup or a scoop of yogurt if desired.
