NYE Surf and Turf: Steak + Shrimp

Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 2 Steak (e.g., New York strip, ribeye) about 8 oz each, seasoned with salt and pepper
For the Shrimp
  • 12 Large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley chopped

  • Tongs

Method
 

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and cook to your desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  3. Remove steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Toss to coat the shrimp.
  8. Serve the steak with the garlic butter shrimp.

Notes

You can adjust the cooking time for the steak based on your preferred level of doneness. For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the shrimp pan after cooking the garlic.
