Melt in Your Mouth Chicken

Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water

Method
 

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until browned.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 5 more minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve the chicken immediately with the thickened sauce poured over it.

Notes

You can serve this chicken over rice or with steamed vegetables.
