- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until browned.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 5 more minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve the chicken immediately with the thickened sauce poured over it.
