Homemade Au Jus Without Drippings

Ingredients
  

For the Au Jus
  • 4 cups Beef broth low sodium recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water

Equipment

  • Whisk
  • Fine-mesh sieve

Method
 

  1. Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the cornstarch slurry gradually until the au jus thickens slightly.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Strain the au jus through a fine-mesh sieve if desired for a smoother consistency.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

This au jus is great for dipping roast beef sandwiches or serving alongside steaks.
