Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese

Garlic Preparation
  • 3 heads garlic roasted
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for drizzling
Garlic Butter
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 tbsp chopped basil
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Cheese Mixture
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven and roast the garlic heads drizzled with olive oil until soft.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter, chopped basil, and Italian seasoning to create garlic butter.
  3. In another bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  4. Spread the garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  5. On the other side of two bread slices, layer provolone, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese, followed by the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Top with the other two slices of bread, butter side out.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
  8. Sprinkle with shredded parmesan and cheddar cheese before serving.
