Easy New Year’s Eve Appetizers (Fast & Fancy)

Ingredients
  

For the Crostini
  • 1 baguette French baguette sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
For the Topping
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 ounces Smoked salmon chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Capers drained and chopped

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp. Let cool.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped smoked salmon and capers.
  6. Spoon the cream cheese mixture onto each cooled crostini.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra touch, garnish with a small sprig of fresh dill or a thin slice of lemon.
