Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 large ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly with a fork.
  3. Stir the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas until combined.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips to the batter before baking.
