- In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer gently for 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Stir in the butter until melted. This adds a nice sheen and richness to the au jus.
- Strain the au jus through a fine-mesh sieve into a serving dish to remove the garlic solids. Discard the solids.
- Serve hot with your French dip sandwiches.
Notes
For an even richer flavor, you can use a good quality beef stock instead of broth. You can also add a sprig of fresh thyme or rosemary to the simmering liquid for extra aroma.
