Course: Side Dish
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper if desired for easier cleanup.
  2. Place the potato wedges in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat them evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the oiled potato wedges and toss again until the spices are distributed.
  5. Spread the seasoned wedges onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary for crispier results.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them completely. Make sure the potatoes are very dry before adding oil and seasoning.
