Method
- Pat the chicken wings very dry using paper towels. This step is important for crispiness.
- In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add the dried chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F (195 degrees C).
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 20 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through the cooking time. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) and the skin should be golden brown and crisp.
- Remove the wings from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can increase the temperature to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking. If you plan to toss the wings in sauce, do so right before serving to maintain crispness.
