  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk Use coconut milk for tropical flavor
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 shot espresso or instant coffee Use 1 tsp instant coffee in 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 tbsp hazelnut butter
  • 1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 tsp maple syrup optional
  • 3 ice cubes Use 3 to 4
Optional Garnish
  • Toasted coconut flakes
  • Crushed hazelnuts
  • Dusting of cocoa powder

Method
 

  1. Add the banana, almond milk, cocoa powder, espresso, hazelnut butter, protein powder, coconut flakes, and maple syrup to your blender.
  2. Blend until the mixture is creamy and thick.
  3. Add more milk if the mixture is too thick, or add extra ice if you want it colder and frostier.
  4. Pour the smoothie into a glass and top with toasted coconut flakes.
  5. Enjoy this smoothie.

Notes
