Ingredients

Smoothie Base
  • 1 large banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • 3 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 oz Chobani 0% Greek yogurt or 2%, flavored or unflavored
  • 3/4 cup skim milk or your favorite kind of nondairy or dairy milk
  • 1 Tablespoon honey, maple syrup, or agave
  • 1 Tablespoon peanut butter any kind you like
Optional Garnish
  • 1 teaspoon chocolate syrup for drizzling the glass

Equipment

  • Powerful blender
  • Spatula or spoon for scraping

Method

  1. Use a powerful blender capable of handling frozen fruit.
  2. Place all ingredients into the blender in the order listed. Blend on high speed until the mixture is thick and smooth. Start with 2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder, blend, and then add the remaining 1 Tablespoon if you want a stronger chocolate flavor.
  3. You might need to stop the blender a few times to stir or scrape down the sides.
  4. If using, drizzle the inside of your serving glass with 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup, then pour in the smoothie and serve immediately.

Notes

You can adjust this recipe based on your preferences. Omit the sweetener if you prefer a less sweet smoothie. Increase the peanut butter amount for a stronger peanut butter flavor. Add more milk if you want a thinner consistency. For added nutrition, blend in 1 cup of your preferred greens.
