Chicken Thigh Recipes in 20 Minutes

This recipe provides a quick method for cooking chicken thighs suitable for a weeknight meal.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings: 4 people
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs Trim excess fat
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better sear.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken thighs.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the hot skillet. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes on the first side until deeply browned. Flip the chicken using tongs.
  6. Cook for another 6 to 8 minutes on the second side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
  7. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve these chicken thighs alongside a quick side salad or steamed green beans to complete your meal.
