Ingredients

Fruit
  • 1 frozen ripe banana, peeled and cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces
  • 1 cup frozen berries
Dairy
  • 1/2 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
Liquids
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice, plus more if necessary
Sweeteners
  • 4 teaspoons honey

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Peel and cut the frozen ripe banana into 1-inch pieces to ensure easy blending and a smooth texture.
  2. Place the banana pieces, frozen berries, low-fat plain Greek yogurt, pomegranate juice, and honey into your blender.
  3. Purée the mixture until completely smooth. Stop occasionally to stir the mixture to help it blend more evenly.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add 2 tablespoons more pomegranate juice and blend again until you achieve the desired consistency.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately while cold and fresh.

Notes

For extra creaminess, use full-fat Greek yogurt instead of low-fat. You can substitute pomegranate juice with other fruit juices like orange or apple if preferred. Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey depending on your taste. To make it vegan, replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar and use a dairy-free yogurt alternative.
