Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. Spread the garlic herb butter evenly over the top and sides of the roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan.
- Roast for 40-50 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
- Slice and serve.
Notes
For a more even cook, you can tie the tenderloin with butcher's twine. Adjust cooking time based on your desired level of doneness.
