Ingredients

For the Wings
  • 2 pounds chicken wings cleaned and trimmed
For the Soy Ginger Glaze
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with water for thickening, optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the chicken wings on a baking sheet.
  2. Bake the wings for 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are cooked through and crispy.
  3. While the wings bake, prepare the glaze. Combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a small saucepan.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until the honey dissolves.
  5. If you want a thicker glaze, whisk in the cornstarch mixed with a small amount of water. Continue to simmer for one minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Remove the cooked wings from the oven. Place the hot wings into a large bowl.
  7. Pour the warm soy ginger glaze over the wings. Toss well until every wing is fully coated.
  8. Serve the Asian Inspired Wings with Soy Ginger Glaze immediately.

Notes

If you skip the cornstarch, you will have a thinner sauce that coats the wings lightly. For extra crispiness before glazing, you can bake the wings at 425°F for 35 minutes.
