For the Lasagna
  • 9 sheets Lasagna Sheets Choose between fresh or dried sheets for best texture.
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 10 oz Frozen Spinach Thaw and drain thoroughly.
For the Cheesy Filling
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese Creamy staple.
  • 3/4 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese Add depth of flavor.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese Gooey layer.

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Prepare homemade marinara sauce if using.
  2. Thaw the frozen spinach in a microwave or on the stovetop, squeezing out all excess water.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the drained spinach, ricotta cheese, 3/4 of the grated parmesan, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  4. In a baking dish, spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce, layer lasagna sheets, spinach-ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
  5. Continue layering with remaining ingredients, finishing with noodles topped with marinara and remaining cheeses.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
  7. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, garnish with fresh basil, cut into slices, and serve.

Notes

This recipe uses standard lasagna sheets. If you use no-boil sheets, adjust the liquid content of your sauce slightly. For a garlic herb flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning to the ricotta mixture.
