- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 15 minutes, or until flavors have melded.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- This recipe can be served over pasta, rice, or potatoes.
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
