A simple recipe for delicious Thanksgiving green beans.
Ingredients

- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Blanch green beans in boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add green beans to the skillet and toss to coat. Cook for 3-5 minutes until heated through.
- Stir in toasted almonds. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of heavy cream at the end.
- To toast almonds, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly browned.
