Quick and easy turkey lettuce wraps with a savory sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 8 large lettuce leaves (such as butter or iceberg)
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the turkey mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Spoon the turkey mixture into the lettuce leaves.
  7. Garnish with chopped peanuts and fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier wrap, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground chicken or pork for the ground turkey.
