Description

A classic and delicious green bean casserole recipe that is a holiday favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (6 oz) french fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook green beans according to package directions until tender-crisp. Drain well.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper.
  4. Add the drained green beans to the soup mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and top with french fried onions.
  8. Bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom.
  • If you prefer a creamier texture, add an extra tablespoon of milk.
  • Ensure your green beans are well-drained to avoid a watery casserole.
