Description

Prepare these Thanksgiving drinks ahead of time for easy serving on busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice berries
  • Optional: 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Combine apple cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice berries in a large pot.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let steep for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Strain out the spices and orange slices.
  5. Stir in maple syrup if desired.
  6. Pour into a slow cooker set to warm or let cool and store in the refrigerator.
  7. Reheat gently before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, use regular apple cider.
  • For an alcoholic version, add 1.5 cups of bourbon or rum before serving.
  • This can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
