Description

A quick and easy one-pot meal featuring seasoned ground turkey and taco flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, salsa, sour cream, avocado

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  5. Add taco seasoning and water, stirring to combine.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then stir in black beans and diced tomatoes with green chilies.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  8. Stir in shredded cheese until melted.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite taco toppings.
