Prepare festive Thanksgiving beverages with minimal dishes.
Ingredients

- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 star anise
- 8 whole cloves
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
Instructions
- Combine apple cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves in a large pot.
- Heat over medium heat until simmering.
- Reduce heat to low and let it steep for at least 30 minutes.
- Stir in maple syrup.
- If using, add bourbon or rum.
- Strain out solids before serving.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or rum.
- Garnish with fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
- This can be made ahead and reheated.
