Description

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine apple cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves in a large pot.
  2. Heat over medium heat until simmering.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Stir in maple syrup.
  5. If using, add bourbon or rum.
  6. Strain out solids before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or rum.
  • Garnish with fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
