Description

A simple and delicious apple crumble made in one pan for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the pecans, if using.
  4. Spread the sliced apples evenly in a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  5. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • You can add a tablespoon of lemon juice to the apples to prevent browning and add a touch of tartness.
  • Feel free to add other spices like ginger or cardamom to the crumble topping.
