Description
A creamy and flavorful shrimp pasta dish that is sure to impress.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces pasta (linguine or fettuccine recommended)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in fresh basil. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute chicken or scallops for shrimp.
- Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and basil if desired.
