Description

A nourishing broth designed to support your immune system.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 carrot, roughly chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 onion, quartered
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine broth, ginger, garlic, carrot, celery, onion, and bay leaf in a large pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the solids.
  4. Stir in turmeric and black peppercorns.
  5. Season with salt to taste.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, use vegetable broth and add mushrooms for extra umami.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving for extra vitamin C.
