Description

A quick and flavorful recipe for honey garlic shrimp served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. If using cornstarch, whisk it with a tablespoon of water and add to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve honey garlic shrimp over cooked rice. Garnish with optional toppings.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, ensure you use cornstarch.
  • Adjust honey and soy sauce to your taste preference.
  • You can substitute other grains like quinoa or cauliflower rice.
