For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean recommended)

  • 1/3 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup grated yellow onion

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil spray (for baking)

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 English cucumber, peeled, grated, and squeezed dry

  • 2 garlic cloves, grated or finely minced

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill

  • 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice

  • Salt, to taste


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, mix all meatball ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix.

  • Form into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them evenly spaced on the sheet.

  • Lightly spray the tops with olive oil.

  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

  • Meanwhile, make the tzatziki: Combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Chill for 30 minutes if time allows.

 

  • Serve meatballs warm with a side of tzatziki. Garnish with extra dill and lemon wedges if desired.
