Description
A simple recipe for soft and flavorful naan bread made with cottage cheese and garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup plain cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin, oval shape.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook the naan for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown spots appear.
- Brush the cooked naan with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and cilantro, if desired.
Notes
- For a softer naan, use whole milk cottage cheese.
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for regular yogurt.
- If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it’s too dry, add a little more milk.
