Garlic Cottage Cheese Naan

Description

A simple recipe for soft and flavorful naan bread made with cottage cheese and garlic.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup plain cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin, oval shape.
  7. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  8. Cook the naan for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown spots appear.
  9. Brush the cooked naan with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and cilantro, if desired.

Notes

  • For a softer naan, use whole milk cottage cheese.
  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for regular yogurt.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it’s too dry, add a little more milk.
