Garlic Chili Shrimp With Jasmine Rice

A quick and flavorful shrimp dish served over fragrant jasmine rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 cup jasmine rice, cooked
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  6. Serve shrimp over cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute brown rice for jasmine rice.
  • Add a squeeze of lime juice before serving for brightness.
