Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the baking powder and salt. Add this to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
