- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the baking powder and salt. Add this to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
- You can substitute the vegetable oil with melted coconut oil.
- Ensure your Greek yogurt is full-fat for the best texture.
