Description
Sautéed mushrooms with bacon and onions, a hearty side dish.
Ingredients

- 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving drippings in the skillet.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add sliced mushrooms and butter to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are browned and tender, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, cooked bacon, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for 2 minutes more to combine flavors.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use beef broth instead of Worcestershire sauce.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
