Description

Bite-sized appetizers with a cheesy filling pressed into a dough.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons ice water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese.
  4. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough just comes together.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and chives.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Roll the chilled dough into small balls.
  9. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  10. Fill each indentation with the cream cheese mixture.
  11. Brush the tops with milk.
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can add a pinch of garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture for extra flavor.
  • Garnish with extra chives before serving.
