Description
Quick and easy mummy dogs made in the air fryer for a crispy finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 hot dogs
- 8 strips of crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Optional: Mustard or ketchup for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
- Cut each triangle lengthwise into a thin strip.
- Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, resembling mummy bandages. Leave a small gap for the ‘face’.
- Place the wrapped hot dogs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Brush the dough with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
- Use small pieces of dough or edible eyes to create faces if desired.
- Serve hot with mustard or ketchup.
Notes
- For crispier mummy dogs, you can add a few extra minutes to the cooking time, checking frequently to prevent burning.
- Ensure the dough strips are thin enough to cook through evenly.
- If you don’t have crescent roll dough, pizza dough cut into thin strips can also work.
